About The Exhibition
Belfast Exposed is delighted to present Post Truth, a group exhibition curated by Deirdre Robb and included in the 2019 Belfast Photo Festival. This exhibition showcases the photographic works of 19 international, national and local artists who have completed the 2019 MFA Photography programme at Ulster University, Belfast School of Art.
The photographic practice can serve the practitioner as a medium, to anchor a personal constitution of understanding, despite the external circumstance and unify an expansive perception through the chosen subject matter.
The group show establishes navigational points within the post truth climate, through themes such as separation, mortality, nature, and spirituality.
"Yet, another exceptional year for MFA Photography at Ulster University. A committed cohort, where each artist delved deep into themselves, to produce individually unique works, that co exist within the personal and the political. Collectively, concepts of faith, identity, and history collide to take us to a place of Post-Truth, a world where there is a new normal; undefined, abstract, and make believe."
Professor Donovan Wylie, Ulster University.
Julie-Ann's work focused on her ongoing project entitled Eclipse
